L'Altra Venezia - exhibition by Anna Laura Bachini

L'Altra Venezia, exhibition for Effetto Venezia 2012, Anna Laura BachiniDuring the coming Effetto Venezia (27 July - 5 August), the Church of the Luogo Pio will be the setting for an exhibition by graphic designer Anna Laura Bachini entitled "L'Altra Venezia".

The Venezia district of Livorno has many faces. There is the Venezia of the local "veneziani" who have lived there for generations, the Venezia that comes alive at night, with all its bars and restaurants, the Venezia seen by visitors, fascinated by the quiet canals and the area's special light and shadows, the Venezia of poets and writers like Malaparte ("Se fossi un livornese, vorrei star di casa in qualche scalo della Venezia...cuore della felicità..."), and of film directors like Visconti and  Paolo Virzì who used Venezia as sets for their films... "L'Altra Venezia" - the "other" side of Venezia, the quarter that best encompasses the city's history.

Anna Laura's exhibition of her images of the Venezia district on panels, cushions, lampshades, and much more, will also be inviting visitors to take an active part by having their photo taken inside the special "Venezia frame". The photos will be used later in the year for a series of postcards to promote the area.
