Livorno’s football club, AS Livorno, was founded in 1915 when the game was introduced to the city by the son of the British viceconsul who is said to have learned the rules by watching British sailors play on the docks.
AS Livorno played their first home game in this 2008-9 season against Mantova last night, Sunday 7th September, at the Armando Picchi Stadium in Ardenza. The match finished in a 1-1 draw.
